There are 4 types of links you can get between players. Most people refer to them as Perfect links which are bright green links which you can see in the image below. As well as normal green, orange and red links.
You can’t actually tell the difference between a green link and a perfect link. However a perfect link is when the two players are from the same team and nationality. So for example Wijnaldum and Van Dijk create a perfect link because they are both from the Netherlands and both play for Liverpool.
Each link a player has determines if that player will be on full chemistry or not. And depending on how many green links you have will depend on how many red links you can have for your player to still be on full chemistry.
For every green link a player has means they can have one red link and still be on full chemistry. And every orange link a player has means they cannot have any red links and still be on full chemistry.
Let’s go through a couple of examples.
- If a player has 3 links one green, one orange and one red he’ll be on full chemistry because the one green link means he can have one red link and still be on full chemistry.
- If a player has 3 links two orange and one red. He’ll not be on full chemistry because he doesn’t have a green link to offset the red link.
There is however, something called a perfect green link. You can’t tell by the color but a perfect green link is when the player is from the same team and nationality of the player he is linked to. And a perfect green link means you can have 2 red links and still be on full chemistry.
So what makes a green orange and red link.
We’ve just spoke about what makes a perfect green link. Below we have a perfect link. Where both players are from the same team and nationality.
But what makes a regular green link? A regular green link is when the two players play for the same club or the players have the same nationality and from the same league. Below is a regular green link. Although it’s looks the exact same as a perfect link. Because the players are from the same league and nation it’s a green link but not a perfect link because they are not from the same team.
An orange link is when the players either play in the same league or have the same nationality. Below is an orange link because of players play in the same league but don’t have the same team or nationality.
And finally a red link is when the players have nothing in common. They’re not from the same nation and don’t play in the same league.
